How Staunch Individualism and Western Society are ONCE AGAIN Leaving You Feeling Inadequate
A lot of my work right now in the Western Rebellion is focused on the concepts in Western society that leave us feeling “less than.”
Western society emphasizes we should prioritize the “goal line” (what you achieve) in life above the learning line (your spiritual evolution.)
Thus, many people rush through the first three decades of their lives thinking that it’s some great rush to “be somebody,” all the while never asking “why am I here?”
I’m an addict, so I know the feeling of deep inadequacy quite well. During my drinking years, I remember living completely in self-hate and spending a lot of time learning.
I knew I had to let a lot go to become a healthier, more enlightened, much less angry human being.
I remember being 24 or 25 and telling a friend of mine how intelligent I was, to which she replied “your emotional intelligence is a little low.”
She was so right.
When I started waking up at 32, I began to shed the ideas that the identity I had created in my life was static.
I had started to tell stories about “how people like me behave,” and I had to come to terms with the idea that none of those stories were true. I was in charge the entire time.
Identity can be shifted at absolutely any time.
Despite the way Western society pits people against one another in some proverbial race to the top of a metaphoric “ladder,” quantum physics and a lot of Eastern societies would argue we are very much a cohesive whole.
We are here for each other.
I was listening to Coach Sean Smith speak this weekend, and he said something extremely powerful.
He said “most of us have been programmed in a way that has shut down our soul’s purpose. And because of that, we’re not aligned with not just our soul’s purpose but our soul’s obligation.
If you have a message in your soul, it’s not for YOU.”
You may have been pumped full of the Western ideology that states everyone else is your competition, and you should be more than you are, but that doesn't mean you have to continue to buy it... Nor do you have to adhere to the identity you've created for yourself in any way.
It's all made up and can be changed at any time.
Get in touch with your soul's purpose because you're not competing with others. You are here for them.
