Why “Cutting Down” does NOT Help You Quit Smoking

Roughly based on my blog post “The Argument,” this episode deals with the idea that everyone who wants to quit smoking wants a system of “gradually cutting down” before they stop.

This strategy will never be successful. There’s hard science to it.

Referencing Allen Carr’s The Easy Way to Stop Smoking, I talk about the reasons why cutting down won’t work, and how it’s actually just prolonging the amount of time you’re spending completely miserable.

I also note, as I always will, how amazing smokers are. You all are my favorite people, and I love you! However, the things that make you great have nothing to do with your smoking. I promise.
