Showing Up as a “Regular” in Your Own Life

Being a regular at a bar is wonderful.

I know that in popular culture, people love to reference “Cheers,” so much so that it becomes a cliché when we think about the bar as a gathering place. That televised portrayal isn’t necessarily inaccurate, however.

When I got sober, I continued to go to my “regular” bar, even though I didn’t drink any longer.

Being around alcohol in sobriety definitely doesn’t work for everybody, however.

The experience of being a “regular” is sacred but isn’t necessarily restricted to times or venues where we drink.

One of the reasons why being a “regular” is so appealing is the connection factor.

There are ways to continue to have that connection even after you leave the sauce behind.

In this episode, I talk about ways to continue those connections in your everyday life, and things you can do to start showing up as a “regular” even when you’re not a part of a bar environment.

So much of being a “regular” begins with you, and you’ve already got the personality to make it happen! It can start with something as simple as a “good morning!”
